Masters of Science in Pure Mathematics
Introduction
The department offers postgraduate degree programmes leading to the award of Master of Philosophy degree in three branches of Mathematics: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Bio-Statistics. The programme is intended to produce graduates whose areas of specialization are broad enough to carry out research, participate in national and international endeavors and disseminate knowledge through teaching.
Objectives
The M.Phil. Programmes are designed to produce graduates:
- With a wide background knowledge and basic techniques in any of the branches.
- Who are able to carry out research and undertake doctorate studies in their respective areas of specialization.
- With ability to take up employment in public and private sectors of national and international spheres.
