Dr. Faith Kandie is a lecturer in the department of Biological Sciences. She holds a PhD in Natural Science from the Goethe university, Frankfurt Germany.  Her current research interests focus on the analytical screening of organic micropollutants in surface water systems within western Kenya. Additionally, she is interested in correlating the occurrence of these pollutants to the prevalence and infectivity of Schistosoma-host snails within the study area. Dr. Kandie is also involved with various national and international collaborators including the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental research, Leipzig and Goethe University, Frankfurt in Germany, Nairobi University, International Center of Insect Physiology and Ecology (Icipe) and Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) in Kenya.

Faith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies (Environmental Biology and Health major) from Moi University, Kenya in 2012 and a master’s degree in Environmental Sanitation (Faculty of bioscience engineering) from Ghent University, Belgium in 2016.
